2011 return to blogging
Not sure why I’m back to this. I’m trying to write this blog from my phone so that it is more difficult. Not sure if I’m going to commit to writing all future entries with the phone or not.
Rode bikes with some great guys this past weekend. The Claw was there and that made me pleased to be as well. The Claw digs riding bikes. He loves it. If you get a chance join our group ride on Saturday and Sunday mornings and I guarantee you will laugh harder than you ever have before while riding bikes. Spend some time riding alongside The Claw.
Mondays are typically off the bike days for me. Lori and I spent some time together and then she rolled out for Rolfing and I made my way to the torture chamber as well. If you need to have your legs ripped apart you should go see Stephen at Massage Envy in Draper. Piriformis and IT Bands feel much better.
I followed this up by stopping in at Barbacoa. Please tell me their tortillas are vegan. To my surprise I was able to sit down with Rowdy Cody Rohovit and Nate Dog Arnim. I dig chatting with these cats. Great guys and good friends.
I’m in Draper for a good part of the day on Mondays. Come see me if you want a BG FIT. A couple riders did today. It is very satisfying to help someone get comfy on their bike. I hear this too often: “I thought being somewhat uncomfortable on the saddle or having pain in my hands and/or feet was just part of cycling.” It isn’t! I can help and I have a blast doing it! During the first fit of the day we were treated to a thunderstorm and snow. Exciting mix. Crazy.
Got home tonight and Lori was in the process of making juice. Awesome recipe:
3 organic carrots
2 organic fuji apples
2 organic beets, leaves included
Lots of organic broccoli
Good size piece of organic ginger, peeled
Large handful of organic spinach
I drank this while eating delicious veggie chili over potatoes and pouring over emails. Best quote from training plan entries for today: “It was incredibly windy which made the intervals more painful but ultimately more valuable.” Kick ass! Best quote from training plan entries in 2010: “I hate you Dave.” That is also kick ass!
The bike room at the house has been a complete disaster as of late…ok, the past 6 months. It is now completely organized and I also have a Vittoria Corsa Slick 23 prepped to glue to a Easton EC90 Aero front wheel. Numerous SRAM 1090 11-26 cassettes and one 11-25 required cleaning and are soaking in degreaser. This project has also netted a number of items destined for sale. Big item: S-Works Transition built with SRAM Red and Reynolds wheels.
Tomorrow should be fun. Plenty of Plan 7 Coaching projects in the AM hours and hopefully some bike riding in the afternoon. New Plan 7 Coaching stickers are in production thanks to Chris! They’ll be coming soon so hit me up if you want to have a cool sticker on your car or bike. If anyone wants to ride in the South Jordan area around 1ish PM we should rally. I’m hoping the snow will have disappeared and the roads mostly dried.
Typing on the phone started to not be cool. Don’t get me started on the legislative session!
